Let go of negative emotions in the Bored-room

Read the previous post on naming fear. Once you do you'll see that your fears have different names. Well? Are you bored with those annoying emotions that stop you from advancing in life? Let's go through an exercise called “The Boardroom” to discover and eliminate some of your fears.

Get comfortable in a chair. Turn off the phone. Have a sip of water. Close your eyes. Take a nice, slow deep breath. Inhale, exhale, ah that's better.

Now pick your fear. Maybe it's obstinacy, insecurity, resistance, procrastination, arrogance (and if you admit that, I honor you-I'm in awe of you). Maybe your fear is judgment or cynicism. Maybe it's just feeling stuck or afraid to change. Get a clear feeling of the type of fear you're going to work with today.

Imagine that you're entering into a boardroom and this boardroom is all yours. It's where you come to think, to let go of the boring subjects that hold you back. It has your type of style, your type of furniture. Really get a feel for this room; the kind of flooring, chairs, colors, sounds, etc. This is your boardroom. This is the room you become present with and of all the things that no longer serve you. You have meetings with yourself in this room.

So now you're sitting at the head of your table in your boardroom and there are two doors: one to enter and one to exit.

There's a knock at the door and in walks Fear. What does your Fear look like? Is it in human form? Is it male or female? Does it even have a gender? Is it a shape, color, sound, or smell?

Fear comes over and sits down right next to you at your table. Now you say, “Fear, why are you here?” and it says, “Because you need me.”

Now think about it. Do you still need Fear to take care of you? To stop you? To limit you? Do you need this fear in your life? Maybe it protected you from something in your past. Then say, “I don't need you anymore. I release the need for you.”

As you start to feel this statement and the release in your body there's another knock at the door. In walks the exact opposite of Fear.

If your fear is Insecurity, Confidence walks in.
If Judgment is your fear, Compassion walks into the room.

What ever the opposite energy to your fear enters and stands behind Fear. Inhale and exhale deeply and your fear will begin to change shape until it disappears or is neutralized or is absorbed by its counterpart or it turns powerless.

If it's still in the room and powerless, escort it to the door. Thank it for serving you when you thought you needed it.

And now you're sitting with the exact opposite of your fear and you reach out your hand and touch it (whether it's compassion, confidence, forgiveness, or love, etc.) This counterpart is now fusing with you and you feel stronger because of it.

Remember to inhale and exhale. Take nice deep breaths. Become one with this positive, powerful energy. You are Pure Conscious Love. Already equipped for this change.

Easy ways to recognize Fear

Fear is the topic today. You create fears based on experiences you have that aren't rational. So in identifying your fears first ask “What is fear?”

Fear is basically two things:
1)A reaction to survival
2)A reaction to the unknown.

And this is the more common fear.

A Reaction to the unknown is the average fear you encounter and there are many forms of that.

INSECURITY is a fear of “I don't feel like I'm enough so I won't follow through."

RESISTANCE is another form of fear as in when you get stubborn.

PROCRASTINATION is the fear of taking action. You wait and wait and wait, re-checking your figures and facts.

OVER-ANALYSIS=I'm too afraid I'll be wrong if I forge ahead.

DEFENSIVENESS (my personal favorite) is another form of fear.

Throughout my life I could never really name the fears I felt but I could feel the defensiveness that surrounded them.

In general, you're threatened by the things you don't understand. And sometimes a simple question is perceived as a threat because you don't know where it's coming from OR you don't know the answer to the question and can become defensive.

IMMOBILIZATION is when fear takes over physically. There's no amount of rational talk that can move you out of that fear. Fear is all about the size of your thumb! You create it in your head and then you
express it in your body.

ARROGANCE is also a form of fear. To protect themselves, some people get arrogant when they become afraid.

TERROR, the basic kind of fear when you're gripping or sweating and then there's...

OBSTINACY. Imagine feeling obstinate. It goes hand in hand with arrogance.

CYNICISM is a huge fear. “Oh that'll never work. Are you kidding? You're going to get robbed blind.” This fear comes from not knowing how to handle a situation...i.e. inadequacy or insecurity.

INDECISION is another name for fear. “What if I make the wrong decision?” Indecision leaves you immobile.

JUDGMENT. There are two kinds and I refer to the one that stems from fear. For example, “Who does she think she is? She ought to act her age.” Sometimes it's not okay to watch someone be free or who they are because it makes you feel uncomfortable. When you see someone doing something you're not able to do people often judge them. (the other kind of judgment is more about evaluation...("Oh, she has red hair, she must have been born with it.")

CONTRADICTION is an interesting type of fear. Usually people who contradict need to be right. If they're wrong their world falls apart. If you like to contradict try joining a debate team or becoming an attorney!

The names of fears can go on and on. As many people exist equal the number of fears there are. It's the “I'm not enough” that's at the core. But if you remember that wisdom comes from knowing the order of things, you'll have a lot less fear. If you remember that you are PURE CONSCIOUS LOVE and Divine in nature, it causes you to pause and find your power to overcome any fear.
